Vodafone has invested significantly in an international network linking its local operations centres with mainland Europe. With a major international point of presence in Milan, Vodafone is able to connect to various international IP upstream Tier 1 providers. Vodafone has entered into a number of agreements with reputable telecommunications companies, one of which being Cable & Wireless.

Vodafone Malta built its own submarine cable system in 2004 and set up an international gateway which has a capacity of 10Gbit/sec.

To further provide resilience of the link between Malta and Europe, in 2009 Vodafone has purchased capacity on a 3rd party submarine cable. This allows Vodafone to re-route seamlessly all the bandwidth traffic over the 3rd party submarine cable in case of a major fault on its submarine cable.

Thus Vodafone Malta is offering diversity both on its international carrier providers as well as on the submarine cables to Sicily.

Vodafone Malta operates a 24x7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) employing state of the art monitoring systems and operates a fault reporting and management system designed to repair faults in the shortest possible time.
